Donda vs. Certified Lover Boy

Who's Gonna Sell More First Week?

I want to start by saying that above all else we should be grateful to get two albums in a week from two of the best to ever do it. I hate to compare the two without first appreciating both artist's individually. So thank you to Ye and Drizzy for providing some tunes for Labor Day Weekend.

Having said that, people like controversy and I'm no exception so I'm going to compare the two. Let's start with Kanye:

DONDA:

It's been too damn long since Ye dropped an album that had me excited... and nothing has changed. There's no argument that Kanye has 5 hall of fame albums in The College Dropout (2004), Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), 808's & Heartbreak (2008), and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010). Each and every one is a classic, period. Since then the only album that even kind of got me excited was The Life of Pablo (2016) but that didn't have the longevity that his past albums had. Donda is scattered, unorganized and rushed. The best part of the album are the features. I think Kanye was aware that he didn't have a classic. Otherwise he wouldn't have had 3 listening parties before the album. He had to get people excited for it somehow. I don't at all question Kanye's musical genius but right now his ability to create a clear and concise album with continuity seems lost.

Certified Lover Boy:

Drake's the best in the world at creating music that's relevant to the time. CLB has the flow that the world has come to expect and love. This album is going to dominate Donda in first week sales. Personally I don't think CLB makes the top 3 Drake albums but my opinion doesn't matter. There are multiple radio hits that are going to be around a long time. Drake has done it again and if you think it's even a conversation to compare him and Kanye in the current music world, you're nuts. Kanye's fans may be a little more die hard than Drake fans and louder about their opinion but Drake has dominated the charts for years. I was hoping for better in CLB but compared to Donda there is no comparison. Drake remains at the top. Oh that album cover though is whack, the fuck is that?

Again, both artists are legends in the industry and deserve to be acknowledged as such. Also, we think that the beef between the two is for publicity right?
